This spring will be colourful – that’s the good news! Because after all these weeks and months in predominant grey our souls are really craving for colour! And how can we bring colour into our lives? Should we redecorate our homes? That’s too costly and time-consuming! Should we fly to warm, exotic places? Again, that’s too costly! The simple solution is not to leave, paint or refurbish but to bring spring directly into our homes.
After the quiet days and silent nights of Christmas… here comes noisy and colourful New Year’s Eve! On December 31, corks are popping, firecrackers and fireworks exploding, people counting down and cheering. Everything is resounding with this noise that marks the beginning of a New Year and originally, would drive away evil spirits.
There is no better way to spend the summer than out of doors accompanied by your friends and family – on the terrace, on the balcony or in the garden, during a picnic, a barbecue or on a long and mild evening drinking a delicious glass of wine and counting the stars!
It could be so wonderful: Here’s a quite place in nature, shadowy and sunny at the same time - perfect for a picnic. All the delicious treats can be unpacked from the picnic basket: healthy salads, fresh baguettes, cheese, fruit and cold drinks. "Help yourself with a little treat" is the meaning of the French "piquenique", the origin of the English "picnic".
The bathing season is open – for all of us who like to take a swim in the lake or sea… and for candles as well! Floating candles with the RAL Quality Mark in combination with water are perfect for hot summer decorations be it indoors or outdoors.
Strawberries are one of summer’s most wonderful blessings and one of the most favourite berries, though, from a botanical point of view, they belong – surprise – to the species of nuts.
This day should be a special day for everyone as everyone is special on this day… on birthday! Especially kids love their birthday – they may eat sweets, have fun, be loud; they get gifts, have a party and a cake with candles; and they certainly are in the centre of attention!
The first tealights were produced in the Netherlands and were called “Waxinelichtje”. They were used in a teapot-warmer to keep the tea hot – and this is why they received their name: “tealights”.
On June 21st, the sun reaches on its journey around the earth the most northern point of its circuit. This constellation brings to the northern hemisphere the longest day and at the same time the shortest night of the year, and is called summer solstice. Summer starts officially, at least according to the calendar.
This is one of the most beautiful and emotional days in life: the wedding day! A day to remember … and a date that must be remembered! Maybe that's why special dates in the calendar are so popular for the ceremony.
